2025.08.28Future Engineers in Action! Rescue Robot Contest 2025 Final Round

The final round of the Rescue Robot Contest 2025 (hereafter “Rescon”), organized by the Rescue Robot Contest Executive Committee and the City of Kobe, which Forum Engineering Inc. supports as a Gold Sponsor, was held over two days, Saturday, August 9 and Sunday, August 10, 2025, at Kobe Sanbo Hall.

Students who advanced through the qualifying rounds took the stage for rescue operations with their refined robots, surrounded by the excitement and high expectations of the venue. After a rigorous selection process, among the eight teams that advanced to the final stage, Shizuoka University’s Robot Factory team “Rescue Yaramaika,” which demonstrated the most outstanding technology and performance, was awarded the “Rescue Engineering Grand Prize.”

Nobuyuki Chiba, Senior Executive Officer from our company, served as a judge for the competition. He observed the passion and technical skills of the young engineers who will shape the future and took the stage to deliver a greeting on behalf of the sponsors. He encouraged the participating students by saying, “We hope you will lead the future of Japanese manufacturing.” Additionally, Chiba presented the Cognavi Cup Trophy to the winning team, “Rescue Yaramaika.”

A group of students from the Joint Institute for Advanced Multimedia Studies (JIAMS) at Osaka Electro-Communication University produced a special commercial in collaboration with our company, which was broadcast at the Rescon venue. Motivated by a desire to directly convey the passion of Rescon participants for monozukuri (craftsmanship and manufacturing), the students went through numerous iterations to complete the commercial. The result is a moving piece that portrays their bold challenge to “create the future through monozukuri.”
